Shining The Light On Knowledge

Just before the age of 10, Khaliq Madu Alim El or “Doc and Captain” as he was called as young boy began his journey into the natural spectrum of living, when he began reading three books that his Grandmother possessed at that time; Back to Eden, Cooking with Mother Nature, and How to Eat to Live. He later reviewed an illustrated article in 1970 about a man who developed a very aggressive cancer of the mouth. After making the connection between smoking and the development of the disease, he immediately shared the details with his mother and father and tenaciously convinced them both to quit smoking. This would later be an apparent purpose to pursue a lifelong purpose as a holistic health practitioner, healer, researcher, writer and ambassador to a more natural and divine way of living.

Dr. Botanica chose a few careers before getting back on the path as researcher in holistic and human health. The first was the pursuit as a professional baseball player, second was a stellar radio announcer and talk show producer, and third an entrepreneur. In 1985, Dr. Botanica acquired the training, education and a diploma in Broadcast Journalism which would eventually provide an opportunity to work as a radio announcer, disc jockey, announcer, engineer, and talk show producer for several radio stations. The radio station formats were Jazz, R&B, and even Country Western. Dr. Khaliq is listed as Doc Botanica in the Saint Louis Media History Archives. In the Fall of 1994, Dr. Khaliq opened his first full-line health food and culture store called “Grassrootz” in Ferguson, Missouri. Soon after Dr. Khaliq opened up his health food store and continued his pursuit in the alternative health discipline of Traditional Oriental Medicine. He would travel between the International College of Chinese Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the “Kitchen Physician School of Natural Healing in Boca Raton to study and practice. I was a direct understudy of Dr. George Love, Licensed Acupuncturist, Qigong Master, and Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Anahitta Jafari, a Iridologist and Doctor of Persian Medicine.

After acquiring his diploma from the International College of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Botanica continued to study under both Dr. Love and Dr. Jafari while still co-running the health food store from a distance. During this time Dr. Botanica began to study Gerson Therapy and metabolic training under the world-renowned Gerson Institute with Charlotte Gerson. He was also received direct education and holistic enlightenment from several other scholars of the healing sciences and modalities such as Harvard Scholar, Researcher, Author of “Emerging Viruses” Dr. Len Horowitz, Medical Doctor, Author and researcher Samuel Epstein of the University of Chicago, and Famous German Physician, health Historian, and Medical Doctor, Matthias Rath.

Dr. Botanica was most embraced by the late health Guru, Activist, Historian, and Comedian Dick Gregory. Dick Gregory was so intrigued by the knowledge and experience of Dr. Botanica that he referred several famous people to him starting in late 1990s’. Dick Gregory referred to Dr. Botanica Grambling State University Football Coach Eddie Robinson, James and Debra Ingram, Hugh Hefner, Betty Wright, and many other people across the country. Dick Gregory considered Dr. Botanica as “One of the greatest minds in our time”, Dick Gregory also endorsed Dr. Botanica's first Book titled “MediSin” in 2005. The book project began after the title “MEDISIN” came to him in a dream in December of 2004, which later became an award-winning book.

After Dr. Botanica discovered that the book was being misrepresented, he decided to publish a 2021 release of “MediSins the 2nd Coming”, to be release by mid-summer. He will also be publishing the new titles WHOLE FOOL’S: The Mis-education of the Health Nut and the title “Standard Dietary Sins” in 2021.

Between 2001 and 2007, Dr. Botanica, was contracted by Quantum II consultants to conduct Complimentary Nutritional and Alternative health presentations and workshops for Damier Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors, in Missouri and Kentucky. In 2001, he was invited to conduct an Herbal Medicine presentation at the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy. In 2012, Dr. Botanica received a Ph.D. in Human Health Sciences from Claremont University.

In 2019, Dr. Botanica decided to publish a book that would thoroughly address the disparities that women, especially the American Asiatic women of melanin tone who are challenged with a variety of health complications. The book also features the tragic history of the Industrial, chemical, and genetic manufacturers and how their carless manufacturing practices contribute to the end results of maladies like fibroids, endometriosis, auto-immune diseases, and cancer.

In 2006, he also documented one of the most successful end-stage lung cancer case studies using adjuvant nutritional therapy which pertained to a 55-year-old patient who was given a 6-month to a year prognosis after discovering that the cancer has metastasized to the brain. The case study was presented to the patient’s chemo and radiation oncologist, pulmonary physician and primary care doctor, and they have never witnessed a cancer case study such as this and considered him to be a “miracle patient”. As a dedication to that patient along with others who are still alive through Dr. Botanica’s complimentary protocol, he will be publishing a book titled “Audacity to Heal”. Within the last 30 years, Dr. Botanica has worked in various areas of the natural products and holistic health industry and formerly owned a total of 4 health food stores. He has been a member of the cancer control society for 24 years, and possesses nearly a thousand books pertaining to health and history. Dr. Botanica has appeared on many talk and video shows including the Power Hour conducted by the late former Army Nurse Captain Joyce Riley, Dr. Valerie Walker’s House Calls, The Robert Scott Bell Health Radio, Respect for Life Radio, Office Hours with Dr. G, and several other shows. He also was the creator and co-host of his own health talk show titled “It’s About You and Your Health” on WGNU-920 AM. His current disciplines are Metabolic Therapy, Traditional Oriental Medicine, Nutritional Science, and adjuvant cancer therapy. Other projects that are in the making by Dr. Botanica are Snacktaculars. Snacktaculars will be a distributorship featuring a special line of only brands that contain chemical-free, non-GMO foods, snacks that influence brain growth and physical development among the young people under 12 years of age. This will be associated with the new venture Sister Scouts Created by Dr. Botanica and Cynthia Martin El. This young people’s venture will feature chemical-free cookies and healthy snack foods that will be operated in the business of young American Asiatic girls.
